Location Details
Located in the northeast of Brazil, between Fortaleza and Natal, a natural water lagoon next to the Atlantic Ocean. The resort itself is situated just outside Touros, a beautiful traditional town. This new development is ideally located near to many major cities and places of interest, Natal is only 35 minutes away and is the region of Brazil closest to Europe.
The current airport at Natal (Severo Ochoa) is located 35 minutes away from the resort. The new Sao Gonzalo Do Amarante Airport, the works of which are due to be completed by the year 2009, is foreseen to be the biggest commercial airport in Latin America and the fourth in the world. This airport will be located only 15 minutes away from the Lagoa Resort. Thomas Cook currently operates direct flights from Gatwick Airport to Natal on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Flight time is 9 hours.
Local climate
The seasons of year are opposites in the Northern and Southern Hemispheres. Brazilian seasons are: Summer (22 Dec - 21 March); Autumn (21 March - 22 June); Winter (22 June - 22 September); Spring (22 September - December).
The climate is actually semi-equatorial and the average temperature throughout the year is 28°C, even in the colder winter season, average temperature in Natal is about 24o C (75o F). You can expect about 300 days of sunshine per year. The heat is tempered a little by the sea breeze.
