Fortaleza, Brazil
Where the amazing fine sand beaches, merges with the warm, crystal clear South Atlantic waters, kissed by the sun all year through this is Fortaleza
Fortaleza is at the heart of Brazil’s romantic north coast. A city of 3 million plus and capital of the state of Ceará and founded in 1610.
This is the three in one and crown resort of the Latin American dream destinations. From the down town original, old and historic centre to the exotic town beach, peppered with excellent restaurants and towering apartments. Rounded off by sedate and secluded sectors, lined with beautiful palms and washed by the white sand beaches, all of which provides a varied lifestyle choice of tremendous quality.
Fortaleza boasts of dependable climate with sunshine guaranteed most of the year. This provides the perfect environment for toasting on the beautiful beaches and swimming in the tepid ocean. In the cool of the evening a refreshing ocean breeze brings comfort to the soul and a great atmosphere in which to dine. The occasional day of rain can come as a welcome break in the relatively dry wet season that endures for four months. Even during these rainy days it mostly dries up in the afternoon and the relentless sun begins to shine again providing a temprature variation of only 2 degrees Fahrenheit over the entire year.
What people don’t generally know is that many of the prime Aberdeen Angus bulls were shipped to Latin America and are the stock of some of the best beef on the planet. If you enjoy your meat then there are restaurants in Fortaleza that will present you with such quality, variety and value while at the same time the combination of succulent, mouth watering, juicy delights will cost a mere fraction of what you would pay in the UK. Seafood is also a specialty and for £4 you can devour a grilled lobster on the beach front.
Be resilient however to the aggressive vendors in the hotel area of Fortaleza with exception to the Praia Meireles which an artisan market of great interest is.
Some beaches provide a lifeguard for the protection of bathers and kite-surfers as well as fresh water showers.
